Candy Krach
Géraldine, 59, is a security guard. At night, she watches over empty buildings; during the day, she competes in the Candy Crush World Championship, where the winner takes home a million dollars. She’s been playing for over ten years. Her son films her, knowing that winning this tournament requires spending a fortune to qualify—and also knowing that he won’t be able to stop her from playing. Between levels, we see the life of a woman who has never had anything handed to her on a silver platter, and the forty years it took her to get this far, still holding onto hope.
