Stormchild

In 2045, in Europe, 95% of insects have disappeared, taking many species with them. To combat waves of famine, farms manually pollinate certain grains using seasonal labor. An entire segment of the population—vulnerable and often female—performs this work, including 14-year-old Solé and her mother, 43-year-old Léonora. Léonora, who refuses to depend on anyone, imposes a nomadic lifestyle close to nature, which Solé happily embraces.
When she finds herself under pressure from the approaching winter and a conflict with the farm manager, Léonora sells their horses to find a job in the city. Solé feels betrayed. At the factory, the young girl discovers friendship and rebellion among a group of workers her own age, but a theft she takes part in goes wrong, and her mother, to save her, drags her back onto the road once again.
Taking refuge in a mountain community, Solé will have to decide what matters most to her: building her own life or following in her mother’s footsteps.
