Family Crash
A teenager drives at full speed to escape a reality that is suffocating him. Inside the car, memories rush by: the smell of cheap perfume, a torn fingernail, Super 8 films found in the basement. On the passenger seat, a snake urges him to remember. The young man’s father returns in flashes: protective, unstable, radiant, absent. The landscapes change, but the questions remain. Why do we suffer? Is madness a legacy like any other?
The world tilts, memories may be lying. Between the road and the slot machines, wounds replay themselves in a setting that is both familiar and delirious. Family Crash is a fiction inspired by real events in virtual reality, a mental road movie where we discover that what we flee is not always behind us.
